Contract Robotics Material Handler at Matic, a home-robotics company building an on-device, private-by-design floor-cleaning robot. The role focuses on material flow for production, ensuring timely delivery of subassemblies to Final Assembly and QC stations, maintaining inventory accuracy, and keeping the work environment organized and safe to maximize production efficiency.
Qualification
- Experience in receiving, staging, and delivering subassemblies and components in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
- Familiarity with inventory control concepts such as cycle counting and stock verification.
- Strong data-entry and material movement documentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and support cross-functional teams.
- Attention to organization, cleanliness, and workplace safety.
- Good communication skills to escalate material issues to production leads promptly.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to identify and implement improvements to material flow and handling time.
- Experience with pallet handling and basic logistics within a factory setting (receiving/shipping)
- Ability to follow standardized processes and maintain accurate records.
Responsibility
- Stock QC-passed subassemblies and components at Final Assembly lines to minimize operator movement and maximize build time.
- Receive and unbox incoming subassemblies; stage and feed materials to QC stations.
- Break down packaging, manage cardboard and waste, and maintain clear pathways throughout the facility.
- Assist with receiving and moving pallets in and out of production areas.
- Monitor material levels and proactively replenish stations before shortages occur.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment across all material staging areas.
- Communicate material issues or shortages to production leads promptly.
- Identify opportunities to improve material flow, reduce handling time, or enhance workplace safety.
- Execute data entry related to material movement, including issuing, counting, and pulling stock from racks for delivery to production areas.
- Conduct inventory verification and cycle counting to ensure count accuracy.
