As a Duty Crew Controller, you’ll be at the centre of Qantas’ day‑of‑operations, playing a key role in managing disruption, recovering schedules, and supporting proactive operational planning. You’ll coordinate and control crew activity in real time, including managing rosters, flight disruptions, and crew transport and accommodation for New Zealand–based Pilots and Cabin Crew.
This is a fast‑paced, high‑impact operational role suited to a confident communicator who thrives under pressure, enjoys solving complex problems, and can balance multiple priorities in a constantly changing environment. To be successful, you’ll have:
- The ability to rapidly assess multiple, competing operational issues and make sound decisions within tight timeframes
- Proven problem‑solving capability, applying a calm, collaborative approach through clear communication and effective negotiation
- Experience implementing, reviewing, and adapting plans to minimise disruption and support schedule recovery
- A solid understanding of airport operations and disruption management principles (highly desirable)
- Confidence working autonomously, thinking logically and decisively in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate operational impacts and decisions
- Flexibility to work shift patterns across a 24/7 rotating roster
