The Qantas Engineering team keeps Australia’s most iconic fleet in the air, combining advanced technology, smart thinking and rigorous maintenance to deliver safe and reliable travel for millions of passengers. Our engineers are involved in innovative work that supports fleet performance today and contributes to the evolution of tomorrow’s aviation standards.
As a Professional Engineering Graduate, your degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering will set you up to make an immediate impact. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to landmark programs such as Project Sunrise, whilst actively improving processes for our existing fleet via our Engines, Performance and Reliability teams.
Every rotation will introduce new challenges and learning opportunities within an office-based engineering environment. With access to guidance from experienced Engineers and structured development support, you’ll build the foundations for a successful engineering career in one of the world’s most dynamic industries.
To be eligible to apply to our 2027 cohort, you must –
- Be in your final year of study or have completed a Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace or similar Engineering undergraduate degree or postgraduate study in the last 2 years
- Maintained a credit average or above
- Be able to commence full time employment with Qantas in February 2027
- Be a Permanent Resident or Australian/NZ citizen at application
Please note: Candidates can apply for one Graduate Program only. This helps ensure you can focus on the program that best matches your passions, degree and long-term career goals, whether that’s Qantas Professional Engineering (Sydney), Qantas Product Innovation Centre (Adelaide) or Jetstar (Melbourne). If multiple applications are made, you will only be considered for your first application.
