Ambient.ai is seeking an Applied Research Scientist to develop advanced foundation models for computer vision, focusing on multimodal AI research to enhance physical security systems. The role involves full-cycle model development, optimization, and collaboration with engineering teams to integrate AI solutions into the platform.
Qualification
- Ph.D. or Master’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a strong foundation in AI/ML.
- Proficiency in Python/C++ and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience with large-scale training and optimization of machine learning models.
- Strong understanding of computer vision and natural language processing (NLP) techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
Responsibility
- Develop and optimize vision-language models (VLMs) for understanding images, videos, and text.
- Own the full training pipeline from pre-training on image-text data to fine-tuning for specific use cases.
- Apply model compression techniques like distillation, quantization, and pruning for efficient deployment.
- Leverage and innovate upon state-of-the-art open-source models and prototype new architectures.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate models into the platform and iterate based on feedback.
- Conduct research and design experiments to test new algorithms and enhance AI systems.
