Ambient.ai is seeking a Senior Applied Research Scientist to develop advanced foundation models for computer vision, focusing on multimodal AI applications in physical security. The role involves full-cycle model development, optimization, and collaboration with engineering teams to enhance security solutions for leading enterprises.
Qualification
- Ph.D. or Master’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a strong foundation in AI/ML.
- Proficient in Python and/or C++ and deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience with transformer-based models and multimodal AI research.
- Strong understanding of model optimization techniques for deployment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibility
- Develop and optimize vision-language models (VLMs) for real-time inference.
- Own the full training pipeline from pre-training on image-text data to fine-tuning for specific use cases.
- Apply model compression techniques such as distillation, quantization, and pruning for efficient deployment.
- Leverage and innovate upon state-of-the-art open-source models and prototype new architectures.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate models into the platform and iterate based on feedback.
- Conduct research and design experiments to test new algorithms and improve AI systems.
