Qualification
- BS or higher degree in engineering or a hard science.
- Experience in hands-on technical projects, either in collegiate teams or professional settings.
- Proficiency in CAD and ability to create high-quality engineering drawings.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to run hardware test plans.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting technical information.
Responsibility
- Own hardware design from concept generation to launch, including CAD, hand calculations, and prototypes.
- Use first principles to simplify designs and make informed decisions.
- Communicate system architecture pros/cons regarding design and packaging considerations.
- Lead subsystem design reviews and present status to team members.
- Act as the Responsible Engineer for your subsystem, running analysis and defining hardware test plans.
- Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful designs to production.
- Travel to test sites and vendors as needed.
- Create technical documentation including test plans, reports, and assembly instructions.
