Asana is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer with strong software engineering skills and a deep understanding of production systems. The role focuses on building scalable and reliable infrastructure using code, and involves collaboration with a team to design and build internal platforms. The position is based in Warsaw with a hybrid work schedule.
Qualification
- Strong software engineering background with experience in production code and system design using Go, Python, Scala, and TypeScript.
- 5+ years of experience building and operating backend systems at scale.
- Familiarity with distributed systems and storage technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Search) in cloud environments.
- Experience with AWS services (e.g. RDS, EKS, IAM), Terraform, and monitoring tools like Datadog.
- Solid understanding of SRE principles, focusing on reliability as a software problem.
Responsibility
- Design and build frameworks, tools, and services that improve the reliability, observability, and scalability of Asana’s infrastructure.
- Lead end-to-end projects, from scoping and design through to rollout, across multiple systems and teams.
- Improve the operability of stateful infrastructure like MySQL, OpenSearch, and DynamoDB.
- Debug production issues across the stack and ensure long-term fixes.
- Partner with product teams to shape a service-oriented architecture for fast, reliable development.
- Share knowledge through code reviews, design discussions, and mentorship.
