The role involves building a scalable platform for scientific models, defining standards for model integration, and collaborating with customers to enhance product offerings in biotechnology.
Qualification
- 5+ years of software engineering or equivalent research experience in developing or deploying scientific models.
- Strong experience with backend systems and infrastructure for supporting scientific model training or inference.
- Proficiency in programming languages relevant to scientific computing and AI.
- Experience with cloud platforms and services for deploying machine learning models.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and customers.
Responsibility
- Build and scale the scientific model platform by designing and implementing infrastructure for model inference that is fast, reliable, and cost-effective.
- Define standards and tooling for model developers, creating frameworks for integrating, testing, and shipping models into Benchling.
- Work directly with customers to ideate use cases, gather feedback, and onboard scientific teams.
- Shape how AI is built at Benchling by driving experimentation and contributing to technical direction.
- Evolve engineering and product development practices as the field matures.
