Blockworks is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain backend systems for their crypto information platform. The role involves developing scalable APIs, optimizing database architecture, and leading backend feature development in a fast-paced startup environment.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Proven experience in backend and API development
- Strong understanding of database design and optimization (MySQL/Postgres)
- Experience with caching strategies using Redis or similar tools
- Ability to lead engineering teams and facilitate productivity
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and software release processes
Responsibility
- Architect, build, and ship backend systems that can scale to millions of requests/day
- Design, implement, and optimize APIs that power research and media products
- Build pipelines to parse and model blockchain transactions and financial data
- Own database design, optimization, and reliability (MySQL/Postgres)
- Implement caching and performance strategies with Redis or similar tools
- Lead backend feature development from planning to production release
- Diagnose and resolve scalability, performance, and reliability issues under real-world load
- Raise the bar on testing, monitoring, and observability across the stack
- Collaborate with frontend, product, and data teams to ensure seamless integrations
