Blue Energy is seeking a Senior Licensing Engineer - Safety to join their regulatory team, focusing on the approval process for innovative nuclear power plant designs. The role involves developing licensing strategies, collaborating with engineering teams, and engaging with regulatory bodies like the NRC to facilitate timely project approvals.

Qualification

  • Experience in nuclear licensing and regulatory processes, particularly with the NRC.
  • Strong understanding of NRC regulations (10 CFR) and NUREGs.
  • Ability to develop and manage regulatory filings and documentation.
  • Experience in project management and leading regulatory projects.
  • Excellent communication skills for interfacing with regulatory bodies and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of safety analysis and topical report development.

Responsibility

  • Support VP of Regulatory and Chief Licensing Engineering in developing and executing Blue Energy’s licensing strategy for nuclear power plant deployment.
  • Perform and lead licensing work collaboratively with Blue Energy licensing staff and contractors.
  • Prepare, submit, and track regulatory filings, including Blue Energy’s Construction Permit Application (CPA).
  • Develop topical reports and Safety Analysis Reports (SARs).
  • Interface with the NRC and international regulatory bodies to address regulatory questions and manage requests for additional information (RFIs).
  • Participate in regulatory meetings, audits, and inspections, representing Blue Energy’s interests.
  • Stay up-to-date with evolving regulatory standards and frameworks, including NRC regulations (10 CFR) and relevant international guidelines.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and vendors to develop and review documentation supporting regulatory submissions.
