The Mechanical IB position involves working under the supervision of a licensed engineer on various projects including new construction and renovations in sectors such as education, healthcare, and corporate commercial. The role requires proficiency in HVAC system design, Revit/BIM modeling, and energy modeling, along with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
Qualification
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering required, preferably from an ABET accredited program.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience required.
- EIT/FE certification in the United States preferred.
- LEED accreditation preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple projects.
- Experience with engineering design software applications (e.g., Revit, Trane Trace).
Responsibility
- Perform designs of uncomplicated piping and equipment selection for HVAC systems under supervision.
- Prepare Building Load Calculations using modeling software with supervisory direction.
- Assist in preparing energy models using appropriate software with oversight.
- Conduct Revit/BIM modeling of HVAC systems from schematic design to construction administration phases.
- Assist with editing specifications for projects and review submittals for compliance with contract documents.
- Research and respond to emergent issues as assigned.
- Draft reports for review by a professional engineer.
- Assist in gathering information for RFI responses and review change orders.
- Perform job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
- Coordinate specific activities on project elements as needed.
