The Mechanical III role involves working within a multi-disciplinary team under the guidance of a licensed engineer, focusing on HVAC systems design for various projects including educational, healthcare, and corporate environments. The position requires expertise in Revit/BIM modeling, project management, and effective client communication.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience in HVAC system design and project management.
- Proficiency in Revit/BIM software for modeling and drafting.
- Strong understanding of energy modeling software for load calculations.
- Excellent communication skills for client and team interactions.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of plumbing and fire protection design is a plus.
- Familiarity with construction documentation and compliance standards.
Responsibility
- Perform and direct design of ductwork, piping, and equipment selection for HVAC systems independently on assigned projects.
- Supervise or provide project management direction within the mechanical discipline, monitoring project progress and budget.
- Calculate heating and cooling loads, layout, and design ductwork and piping using energy modeling software.
- Prepare Revit/BIM modeling of construction drawings of HVAC systems from schematic design to construction administration phases.
- Edit specifications relating to existing or new projects.
- Research as needed and respond to emergent issues.
- Specify mechanical equipment such as boilers, chillers, and air handling units.
- Review shop drawings for compliance with specifications and contract documents.
- Interface effectively with clients and project team members, attending OAC meetings with a focus on project budget.
- Respond to RFIs and review change orders in the preparation of construction documents.
- Conduct job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
