The Plumbing & Fire Protection IB role involves working within a multi-disciplinary team under the guidance of a licensed Engineer. The position focuses on designing plumbing and fire protection systems for various construction projects, including educational and healthcare facilities. Candidates should have relevant engineering degrees and experience, particularly with Revit/BIM modeling.
Qualification
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering required, preferably from an ABET accredited program.
- Minimum of 2+ years of related experience required.
- Current CPD, PE in Mechanical or FPE in the United States preferred.
- LEED accreditation preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects effectively.
- Experience with engineering design programs, specifically Revit, required.
Responsibility
- Perform designs of uncomplicated piping and equipment selection for Plumbing/Fire Protection systems under supervision.
- Prepare Revit/BIM modeling of construction drawings for plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Assist with editing specifications for projects.
- Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with contract documents.
- Research and respond to emergent issues as assigned.
- Write draft reports for review by a professional engineer.
- Gather information to respond to RFIs and review change orders.
- Conduct job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
