The Plumbing & Fire Protection IB role involves working within a multi-disciplinary team under the guidance of a licensed Engineer. The position focuses on designing plumbing and fire protection systems for various construction projects, including educational and healthcare facilities. Candidates will utilize Revit/BIM for modeling and assist in various project phases from schematic design to construction administration.
Qualification
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering required, preferably from an ABET accredited program.
- Minimum of 2+ years of related experience required.
- Current CPD, PE in Mechanical or FPE in the United States preferred.
- LEED accreditation preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Experience with engineering design programs, specifically Revit, required.
Responsibility
- Perform designs of uncomplicated piping and equipment selection for Plumbing/Fire Protection systems under supervision.
- Prepare Revit/BIM modeling of construction drawings for plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Assist with editing specifications for projects.
- Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with contract documents.
- Research and respond to emergent issues as assigned.
- Draft reports for review by a professional engineer.
- Gather information for RFI responses and review change orders.
- Conduct job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
- Coordinate specific activities on project elements.
