Chewy is looking for a Manager, Data Science to lead a team of Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers in their Customer Care Data organization. The role involves collaborating with various teams to develop and deploy machine learning solutions that enhance customer and agent experiences, while ensuring best practices in data science and MLOps are followed.
Qualification
- Master’s degree (or Ph.D.) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data science or applied machine learning, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong programming skills in Python or R, with experience in data manipulation and ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms and statistical methods.
- Experience with MLOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and model deployment.
Responsibility
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, reliable machine learning and AI solutions for Customer Care teams.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, operations, and enterprise teams to identify high-impact use cases and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Oversee the full data science lifecycle, including data acquisition, feature engineering, model development, deployment, and performance monitoring.
- Implement best practices in experimentation, model validation, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure operationalization of models through MLOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and data quality standards.
- Mentor and develop Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers, promoting technical excellence and innovation.
- Guide project prioritization and resource allocation to balance innovation with business needs.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to senior leaders through data visualizations and narratives.
