Chewy Vet Care is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join their Healthcare Practice Team as they launch new veterinary practices in early 2024. The role focuses on providing high-level veterinary support care in a collaborative environment, utilizing advanced technology to enhance patient and pet parent experiences.
Qualification
- Experience as a veterinary assistant or in a related field.
- Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
- Ability to handle animals and perform basic veterinary skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Familiarity with using technology in a veterinary setting.
Responsibility
- Support the practice team by providing proficient veterinary support care and embodying the Chewy Vet Care culture.
- Implement outlined policies and procedures, using integrated technology to deliver consistent medical care.
- Assist veterinarians with operating medical equipment and handling animal bodily fluids and tissues.
- Demonstrate team support and care for colleagues' work experiences.
- Understand and follow the practice’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standards of Care (SOC).
- Review invoices with clients and handle client payments.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members, keeping veterinarians informed on patient updates.
- Be proficient in using the Practice Information Management System (PIMS) and assist others in its use.
