Databricks is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Notebook Dataplane team, responsible for leading the development of a stateful user code execution service. This role involves driving technical vision, architecture, and execution while collaborating with various teams to ensure high-quality deliverables. Qualification
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong track record of technical leadership and impact.
- 3+ years of engineering management experience.
- Experience designing, building, and operating scalable SaaS platforms.
- Expertise in distributed systems, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and modern web application architectures.
- Strong system-level skills. Experience with containers and K8S is highly desirable.
- Strong ability to collaborate across product, engineering, and business teams to align technical strategy with company growth objectives.
- Passion for the data intelligence space.
Responsibility
- Define and drive the stateful user code execution service vision.
- Partner with serverless platform teams to build the service.
- Own the roadmap and execution, ensuring all team deliverables are met with high quality and on schedule.
- Define team best practices for engineering excellence, including design reviews, code quality, testing strategies, and performance optimizations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the stack.
