The position involves building, testing, and deploying backend services in a microservices architecture, optimizing platform performance, and collaborating closely with product and design teams. Qualification
- 7+ years of experience as a Software Engineer focusing on Backend Systems.
- Experience designing and implementing large-scale systems in a microservice architecture.
- Proficient in AWS and designing systems for high load and data consistency.
- Passionate about software testing and quality assurance.
- Deep understanding of concurrency concepts and trade-offs.
- Experience with JVM languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Scala.
- Experience in developing production systems using Kotlin, Postgres, and Kafka.
Responsibility
- Join a backend team of 10+ engineers to work on key features for millions of active users.
- Lead projects and coordinate with product and design teams to implement new features.
- Own the design and development of Grindr’s backend services in a microservices architecture.
- Optimize platform performance using tools like Redis, Postgres, and Kafka on AWS.
- Guide data-driven decisions to adopt new technologies and workflows.
- Maintain high availability of the Grindr platform and manage incident responses.
- Mentor team members through pairing sessions, code reviews, and architecture reviews.
