The Backend Engineer will design and implement a flexible data model, build version control systems for schema changes, and create AI-assisted tooling for schema management. The role emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and crafting high-quality systems.
Qualification
- Expertise in building large scale ETL on databases like Postgres, Elasticsearch, DuckDB, Memgraph.
- Experience using cloud services to build and deploy reliable web applications.
- Ability to work in abstractions to build complex graph-based architectures.
- Strong team player with a positive and curious attitude.
- Demonstrated growth mindset and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
Responsibility
- Design the core EAV data model & schema-as-code platform for customer instances.
- Build a Git-style version-control and migration engine for schema and data changes.
- Engineer AI-assisted tooling for proposing and validating new customer schemas.
- Scale a white-labeled data warehouse for high-volume analytics and automation workloads.
- Create Terraform-like declarative APIs & SDKs for business processes as code.
- Deliver end-to-end observability across supply-chain, finance, and ops data.
- Build enterprise guard rails to detect anomalous behavior in the system.
- Mentor and shape engineering culture, collaborating with product and design teams.
