Family Mentor - PST at Equip, a fully virtual eating disorder treatment program. The role supports carer families and patient support people through individualized sessions and structured group facilitation, collaborates with a multidisciplinary care team, and leads community-building support groups. This is a remote, full-time position with scheduling aligned to the majority patient time zones (Pacific, Mountain, etc.).
Qualification
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to actively listen and hold space.
- Experience facilitating or leading group sessions or support groups (virtual experience preferred).
- Ability to tailor session content to diverse needs and provide education or coaching as needed.
- Comfort delivering services in a fully remote, virtual environment and familiarity with telehealth platforms.
- Excellent calendar and time-management skills to maintain availability and scheduling.
- Willingness to work Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts, within Pacific Time (with alignment to patient time zones, including occasional later start/finish days).
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary care team and support families and patients.
- Willingness to draw on lived experience to inform support while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
Responsibility
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to provide support and skill-building to carer families and patient support people.
- Meet with carer families and patient support people for virtual sessions, tailoring content to their unique needs, actively listening, and holding space for their experiences.
- Lead and facilitate support groups for patient support people to build an Equip community and provide skills-training.
- Maintain an up-to-date calendar and manage availability so sessions can be booked efficiently.
- Outside of sessions, run additional tasks as needed to support the care team and patient families.
- Demonstrate responsible self-disclosure by drawing from lived experience to an appropriate extent.
- Adapt session content to the individual needs of each family or support person.
