About the position
The Health & Safety Officer is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and ensuring the effective operation of all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) activities across the organization. The role focuses on safeguarding employees, optimizing environmental performance, and ensuring full compliance with legal and corporate standards.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Develop the company’s HSE strategy, policies, and standards to achieve outstanding and sustainable results.
- Provide guidance and deliver effective outcomes related to Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental performance.
- Monitor legal compliance and ensure adherence to all local/national regulatory requirements and corporate HSE standards.
- Promote a strong safety and environmental culture through continuous awareness initiatives and employee training.
- Track, report, and control HSE performance using KPIs and structured action plans.
- Lead risk assessments for Safety and Environmental hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
- Develop and maintain internal HSE audit and inspection systems.
- Prepare HSE capital investment proposals and manage related projects.
- Support the development and implementation of Process Safety and Machine Safety Management Systems.
- Optimize the site’s environmental footprint, including COD reduction, hazardous and non‑hazardous waste management, CO₂ emissions, and water/energy consumption.
- Identify and mitigate occupational risks across all operations.
- Support the Supply Chain Leader in emergency planning, HSE committees, and incident investigation and analysis.
- Identify training needs and design/implement HSE training programs.
- Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives within the HSE function.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong knowledge of production management and manufacturing processes
- Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations
- Experience in reporting and analyzing key operational and HSE metrics
- Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and leaderships capabilities
- Attention to detail and a results-driven mindset
- Technical school diploma or BSc/BA in Business Administration or related field (preferred)
- Excellent knowledge of the English language
