Goodman is a dynamic real estate company focused on logistics and data center development, seeking a Mechanical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the development of mechanical systems standards and best practices across data center projects. The role involves ensuring compliance with local standards and specifications, supporting project teams, and fostering continuous improvement in mechanical engineering practices.
Qualification
- Proven experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in data center environments.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including cooling, ventilation, and fire safety.
- Experience with RIBA stages and project management in construction.
- Ability to ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams.
Responsibility
- Define and maintain programme-wide standards, templates, procedures, and best practices for mechanical systems (Cooling, Ventilation, Fire Safety, Fuel System, etc.)
- Ensure alignment with local regulations, hyperscaler requirements, and Goodman protocols.
- Promote continuous improvement and innovation in mechanical engineering practices.
- Support programme and project level design managers for definition of mechanical scope of work per each phase.
- Actively participate in multiple data centre and substation projects from concept to end of detail design to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
- Review consultant deliverables for safety, scope compliance, spatial coordination, constructability, and maintainability.
- Conduct technical bid reviews for General Contractor and main equipment vendors.
- Provide answers to consultant, designer, and general contractor RFI’s.
