Principal Software Engineer - CI at Harness, leading the Harness Cloud infrastructure that underpins the company's CI, STO, IAC, and Cloud Developer Environments. Focused on architecture, scaling, and security of a large-scale cloud platform in a fast-growing startup.
Qualification
- Experience designing, building, and scaling cloud infrastructure for CI/CD or similar platforms
- Proficiency in Go and Java; strong systems programming and software engineering skills
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, MongoDB, and Redis in production environments
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure as code and related tooling (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
- Experience managing large fleets of bare-metal and virtual machines at scale
- Ability to author clear technical specifications and architecture documents
- Excellent debugging and distributed-systems troubleshooting skills; strong collaboration and communication abilities
Responsibility
- Lead efforts to scale and secure the Harness Cloud platform, including lifecycle management of a large fleet of bare-metal and virtual machines
- Design, develop, and maintain critical cloud infrastructure components in a fast-paced, quality-conscious environment. Our stack includes Golang, Java, Kubernetes, MongoDB, Redis
- Author technical specifications and architecture documents
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems across the distributed infrastructure
- Perform peer reviews of specifications, designs, and code
- Collaborate with Cloud Engineers and cross-functional teams to diagnose/troubleshoot issues and drive improvement across CI, STO, IAC, and CDE components
- Contribute to reliability, security, and performance enhancements of the cloud platform
