Staff Software Engineer II - CI
Harness
Harness is seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer II to design, develop, and optimize highly scalable, distributed backend systems. The role emphasizes Java and Go expertise, cloud-native architectures, robust observability, and strong operational excellence within the Harness Software Delivery Platform (CI, CD, feature flags, security, etc.). You will contribute to scalable, resilient services, improve CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, and leverage cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
Qualification
- Strong expertise in Java and Go.
- Deep knowledge of distributed computing principles.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures and scalable backend services.
- Focus on operational excellence, reliability, scalability, and observability.
- Experience with incident management, performance tuning, and automation.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Responsibility
- Design and develop scalable, fault-tolerant backend systems that handle millions of requests per second.
- Architect system components and drive scalability across distributed services.
- Ensure system reliability, scalability, and observability with monitoring, tracing, and alerting.
- Lead incident management, performance tuning, and optimization efforts.
- Build automation for deployment, testing, and operations to improve CI/CD workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, security, SRE, etc.) to deliver high-performance applications.
- Work with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and adopt cloud-native architectures.
- Contribute to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery.
