The Senior Localisation Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring that Heidi's products are effectively localised for various languages and regions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows and maintain high-quality user experiences.
Qualification
- Experience as a localisation engineer or in a related technical role.
- Strong understanding of localisation and internationalisation principles.
- Proficiency in scripting or programming languages.
- Experience with localisation tools and platforms (e.g., Crowdin, Smartling).
- Familiarity with multiple file formats used in localisation (e.g., JSON, XML, XLIFF).
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibility
- Design, implement, and optimise localisation workflows and automation pipelines.
- Ensure products are technically prepared for internationalisation (i18n), including text handling and encoding standards.
- Manage and integrate localisation platforms like Crowdin and Smartling with development processes.
- Support multiple file formats (JSON, XML, XLIFF) and ensure integration with source control systems like Git.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, design, and QA teams to resolve localisation issues and ensure UI/UX compatibility across languages.
- Conduct functional, linguistic, and UI testing for localised builds, troubleshooting issues such as text expansion and display errors.
- Build and maintain localisation documentation, style guides, glossaries, and best practices.
- Continuously improve localisation infrastructure for scalability and efficiency.
