The Senior/Staff Safety Compliance Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring that Heron's products meet regulatory standards and achieve necessary certifications for market entry, collaborating closely with engineering teams in a dynamic and growth-oriented environment.
Qualification
- Undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- More than 5 years’ experience in regulatory and compliance certification for power electronics products.
- Experience designing or testing medium-voltage systems (5kV–35kV).
- Strong understanding of insulation coordination, clearance/creepage, and partial discharge.
- Hands-on skills and initiative in compliance engineering.
Responsibility
- Research, interpret, and apply compliance from UL, IEC, ISO, and other regulatory bodies.
- Partner with engineering leads to embed compliance into product architecture and design.
- Develop and execute compliance test plans, including identifying/building test infrastructure.
- Debug failures and drive design solutions in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Establish and manage partnerships with NRTLs for timely certification.
- Define and maintain client test data acceptance programs with NRTLs.
- Proactively manage business risk by monitoring evolving standards and engaging with AHJs and utilities.
- Contribute to thought leadership through white papers and participation in standards activities.
