IXL Learning is seeking a full-time remote Language Arts Curriculum Designer focused on assessment for K-5 education. The role involves designing engaging assessment items, collaborating with various teams, and ensuring alignment with educational standards to enhance personalized learning for students.
Qualification
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Education, English, Linguistics, or related field with a focus on literacy
- 2+ years' experience writing reading items for assessments
- Experience teaching beginning or struggling readers using structured literacy
- Outstanding written and spoken communication skills
- Ability to think strategically and creatively solve problems
- Strong attention to detail and openness to others' ideas
- Familiarity with HTML, Jira, or version control software is a plus
- Experience in curriculum development and instructional design
Responsibility
- Write and review clear, engaging assessment items for grades K-5
- Collaborate with writers, editors, and illustrators to ensure content accuracy and appropriateness
- Write achievement level descriptors and assessment documentation
- Work with curriculum designers and psychometricians to determine assessment scope
- Develop and manage project plans for high-quality assessment item delivery
- Research and analyze content requirements based on state educational standards
- Assist with ELA curriculum design projects, including standards alignments and content reviews
