Freelance Belgium Dutch linguist role at LILT, an AI-powered translation company. You will translate and localize content into Belgian Dutch across Life Sciences, IT, Marketing, Legal and Finance, working remotely with a flexible schedule and contributing to a human-in-the-loop, AI-assisted translation workflow.
Qualification
- Native-level proficiency in Dutch (Belgium).
- Minimum 2 years of translation experience and/or a Linguistics/Translation degree.
- Proven expertise in translation/localization with a track record of high-quality work.
- Experience in Life Sciences, IT, Marketing, Legal and Finance domains is preferred.
- Experience with subtitling and/or transcreation is a plus.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted translation workflows and human-in-the-loop processes.
- Ability to work remotely with a flexible schedule and manage own workload.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a distributed team.
Responsibility
- Translate and localize content from English to Belgian Dutch with native fluency and cultural nuance.
- Preserve brand voice and tone across all materials and ensure consistency with style guides.
- Collaborate with AI-assisted translation tools and human-in-the-loop processes to review and post-edit machine translations.
- Handle subtitling and transcreation tasks for multimedia assets as needed.
- Maintain terminology glossaries and domain-specific glossaries; ensure terminology consistency across projects.
- Meet project deadlines and communicate progress with project managers and stakeholders.
- Contribute localization across Life Sciences, IT, Marketing, Legal and Finance domains.
- Perform QA checks and provide feedback to improve MT systems and translation quality.
