Magical is hiring a Junior Software Engineer, AI (New Grad OK) to join as a founding engineer building an agentic AI platform. You'll work on browser-facing agent interactions, multi-agent collaboration for complex workflows, and scalable desktop-ready systems, with exposure to cutting-edge AI tech, equity, and a fast-growing startup environment based in SF or Toronto (or relocation).
Qualification
- Experience with TypeScript and React
- Have been coding outside of work for 5+ years, through side projects, open source, and more recently, AI
- Strong bias toward action and a willingness to do whatever it takes; demonstrate show > tell
- Strong sense of ownership, prioritization, and ability to unblock yourself with minimal guidance
- Studied Computer Science (or related field), or dropped out to build stuff
- Located in SF/Toronto or willing to relocate
Responsibility
- Push the frontier of how agents interact with the browser to improve speed, reliability, and coverage across real-world apps
- Build and evolve how multiple agents collaborate to solve complex workflows
- Design and scale the systems that make Magical run seamlessly on desktop, unlocking enterprise-grade stability and performance
- Build rigorous verification systems that guarantee agents are doing the right thing every time
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, implement, and ship features with high quality and performance
- Own substantial parts of the codebase and contribute to architecture and product strategy as an early team member
