Qualification
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years in an engineering leadership or tech lead role.
- Strong technical foundation with the ability to dive into architecture, system design, and debugging across the stack.
- Experience scaling an engineering organization and building scalable engineering practices.
- Proven track record of delivering end-to-end initiatives and shipping features quickly and reliably.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Product, stakeholders, and leadership to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Excellent people leadership, coaching, and hiring experience; commitment to fostering a diverse and skilled team.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to set clear goals, plan sprints, and mitigate risks proactively.
- Hands-on technical comfort to review code and contribute when needed while maintaining a broader leadership focus.
Responsibility
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team, fostering growth, accountability, and technical excellence.
- Drive end-to-end delivery of high-impact engineering initiatives—from concept to architecture, implementation, testing, and launch.
- Partner with Product, business stakeholders, and leadership to define scope, align on priorities, and ensure timely, high-quality feature delivery.
- Establish and continuously improve engineering practices, tooling, and processes to support rapid scaling and reliability.
- Own the code produced by the team; perform code reviews, contribute hands-on when needed, and elevate the team’s overall output.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and leveling efforts to build a diverse, exceptional engineering organization.
- Ensure strong execution through clear goal-setting, sprint planning, and proactive risk mitigation.
- Maintain a high technical bar by participating in architecture discussions, guiding engineers on complex problems, and reviewing critical systems.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to translate client feedback and business needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Promote a culture of extreme ownership, thoughtful iteration, and accountability within the engineering organization.
- Contribute to long-term technical strategy, system design, and infrastructure decisions as the platform scales to serve more sophisticated institutions.
