Northwood is seeking a Lead Security Engineer to design and implement security frameworks for innovative space communications technologies. The role involves building security architectures for new ground station infrastructure and ensuring compliance with stringent regulations while supporting mission-critical operations for government and commercial customers.
Qualification
- 5+ years of production experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, AWS CDK).
- Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.
- Experience conducting security architecture reviews in regulated environments.
- Strong knowledge of NIST 800-171, CUI, and FedRAMP frameworks.
- Familiarity with government cloud environments.
Responsibility
- Design security architectures for new ground station infrastructure and space communication protocols.
- Implement security controls for distributed systems that track multiple satellites across various orbits.
- Deploy enterprise SIEM solutions to manage large volumes of satellite communications data while ensuring compliance.
- Develop security playbooks for unique infrastructure and serve as the primary security liaison for government customers.
- Lead incident response and threat hunting across a globally distributed ground station network.
- Create automated compliance pipelines that align with FedRAMP and NIST 800-171 requirements.
