The role emphasizes hands-on engineering to build resilient data infrastructure, ensuring performance and reliability in collaboration with SRE and engineering teams.
Qualification
- 4+ years of experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Deep expertise in designing and optimizing database systems at scale.
- Experience with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of database performance tuning and high-availability strategies.
- Ability to work collaboratively with SRE and engineering teams.
Responsibility
- Design, implement, and operate highly available PostgreSQL clusters including replication and failover automation.
- Optimize query performance, indexing strategies, schema design, and storage engines.
- Perform capacity planning, growth forecasting, and workload modeling.
- Own high-availability strategies including automatic failover and disaster recovery.
- Develop automation for provisioning, configuration, backups, and schema management using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Build monitoring, alerting, and self-healing systems for PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Lead response during database incidents such as performance regressions and deadlocks.
