Senior Product Manager, Access & Identity at Patreon, responsible for owning identity and access management strategy and execution to protect user accounts, combat fraud, and meet AML/KYC/KYB and data privacy/regulatory requirements. Hybrid in New York or San Francisco (2 days in-office) with cross-functional leadership across security, compliance, and fraud.
Qualification
- 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in identity/security, fintech, or SaaS.
- Proven track record delivering IAM programs, including KYC/KYB and AML compliance.
- Experience designing authentication, authorization, account recovery flows, login alerts, and self-service capabilities.
- Strong background in fraud prevention and account takeover defenses; experience with detection and observability across auth, sessions, and sensitive actions.
- Experience implementing privacy controls for PII tagging and gating; familiarity with data governance.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and tax reporting requirements; ability to partner with Legal and Compliance.
- Strong data-driven mindset with ability to define and track KPIs and success metrics.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills; ability to influence and lead without direct authority.
- Location in New York or San Francisco, or willingness to relocate; able to work in a hybrid model with in-office days.
Responsibility
- Own the roadmap and execution for Patreon's KYC (Know Your Customer) and KYB programs, ensuring AML compliance and supporting tax reporting.
- Ship self-serve account recovery flows, login alerts, and other identity and access management features that empower users to protect their accounts.
- Lead AML and KYC/KYB initiatives, driving regulatory compliance across applicable jurisdictions and coordinating with Legal and Compliance teams.
- Build defenses against account takeovers by improving detection and observability across authentication, sessions, payouts, and password changes; partner with Fraud Ops on tooling and automated controls.
- Reduce account takeover losses through step-up authentication, device fingerprinting, and risk-based friction strategies.
- Ensure user identity data is properly tagged and gated by privacy controls, coordinating with privacy teams and governance processes.
- Define and track success metrics and KPIs for identity initiatives; apply data-driven decision making to optimize outcomes.
- Collaborate with Security, Fraud Ops, Legal, Compliance, Data Science, and Engineering to deliver on the identity roadmap and drive cross-functional alignment.
- Communicate strategy effectively to stakeholders, influence product direction, and maintain alignment across multiple teams.
