Phaselab is seeking a Founding Backend Engineer to join their team in New York City or Raleigh/Durham Area. The company is focused on transforming the eDiscovery industry by providing innovative tools for legal teams. This full-time role involves building and scaling the core product, collaborating closely with founders and the engineering team, and having a significant impact on the company's technology and product direction.
Qualification
- 3+ years of experience in backend development, preferably in startups
- Strong expertise in Python for backend development
- Strong database expertise, including Postgres and/or Elasticsearch
- Experience with infrastructure management tools like Terraform and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices
Responsibility
- Onboard and set up the development environment
- Ship a small update or bug fix to familiarize with the codebase
- Ship two major features within the first month
- Deliver feature updates daily/weekly with a focus on quality
- Collaborate with the team and customers to shape the product's future
