The Research Scientist in Thin Film Materials Discovery will lead efforts in thin-film synthesis using PVD platforms, collaborating with AI scientists and engineers to enhance automated laboratory infrastructure.
Qualification
- PhD in chemistry, physics, or materials science with 5+ years of hands-on experience.
- Expertise in thin-film synthesis methods such as sputtering, PLD, and MBE.
- Strong skills in structural and chemical characterization of thin films.
- Experience probing optical, electronic, magnetic, and thermal properties of thin films.
- Proven collaboration with computational groups for high-throughput materials discovery.
Responsibility
- Develop synthesis strategies for novel thin-film materials predicted by AI.
- Characterize crystal structures, defects, microstructures, and properties of new compounds.
- Collaborate with AI and computational teams to create predictive models for materials growth and properties.
- Design, test, and deploy automated growth and characterization hardware with engineers.
- Ensure laboratory safety and stewardship while working with hazardous chemistries.
