PostHog is seeking a ClickHouse Operations Engineer to automate, manage, and maintain ClickHouse infrastructure as the company scales to capture trillions of events per year. The role involves optimizing performance, provisioning large clusters, and utilizing modern tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
Qualification
- Strong experience with OLAP databases, particularly ClickHouse.
- Experience in automating dynamic provisioning of instances using Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with high-scale complex data storage solutions.
- Ability to work on performance optimization and scaling of ClickHouse infrastructure.
- Familiarity with cloud provider hardware and infrastructure.
Responsibility
- Automate and manage ClickHouse infrastructure for high-scale data ingestion and storage.
- Optimize node and instance-level performance for ClickHouse.
- Build systems and automations for provisioning and scaling ClickHouse clusters handling over 100 PB of data.
- Investigate and experiment with the latest hardware from cloud providers to find optimal setups.
- Work on query performance tooling and contribute to building a query optimizer for ClickHouse.
