Reflect is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to architect and implement flight software for their initial satellite vehicles. The role emphasizes ownership, rapid development, and innovation in creating reliable and cost-effective systems for space applications.
Qualification
- Experience with C and/or C++ software on autonomous electromechanical systems like robots or spacecraft.
- Strong understanding of software design for high reliability systems, including fault tolerance and remote updates.
- Experience architecting high-reliability electromechanical systems in collaboration with engineers.
- Experience with deployed electromechanical systems.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.
Responsibility
- Architect and implement flight software for Reflect’s first satellite, including selecting operating systems and communication software.
- Write modular, easily validated software that works reliably on the first attempt.
- Deliver fault-tolerant and remote-updatable software systems suitable for the LEO environment.
- Collaborate with avionics engineers on component selection and electrical system architecture.
- Integrate software for electromechanical components such as sensors, motors, and communication systems.
- Design embedded software systems to support satellite subsystem hardware testing.
- Implement tests including unit tests and software simulation.
