Engineering Manager, Cloud Services at Replit. Lead the Cloud Services team to build and operate Replit's first-party cloud infrastructure (databases, storage, hosting, environment separation, and custom domains) that powers Replit Agent. Drive strategy, people leadership, and delivery in a fast-growing, AI-driven platform used by millions of developers and businesses.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent real-world security engineering experience.
- 7+ years of software experience with at least 2 years in a management/leadership role.
- Proven experience building reliable distributed systems on cloud infrastructure (preferably GCP or similar).
- Hands-on experience with AI/agentic systems or AI-enabled product architecture is highly desirable.
- Experience at a high-growth startup or scaling environment is preferred.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills with a track record of hiring, mentoring, and retaining engineers.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with platform-as-a-service concepts and/or contributing to open-source projects is a plus.
Responsibility
- Hire, mentor, and retain a high-performance Cloud Services team of engineers who design and operate scalable cloud infrastructure.
- Set the vision and strategy for Cloud Services, ensuring alignment with Replit's mission and goals to empower billions of software creators.
- Set a fast and predictable delivery pace, manage roadmaps, and drive execution in a hyper-competitive market.
- Roll up your sleeves on hands-on projects, contribute to on-call duties, incident response, and reliability improvements.
- Architect and oversee cloud infrastructure components (databases, storage, hosting, app publishing, and environment separation) to enable scalable, secure, and cost-efficient operations.
- Collaborate with AI/Agent teams to optimize latency, reliability, SEO, and overall product experiences leveraging the cloud platform.
- Provide technical leadership across the organization, guiding high-impact initiatives and cross-functional collaboration with product, security, and SRE teams.
- Champion best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, security, monitoring, and cost-management to ensure robust production systems.
