Qualification
- Proven experience in backend engineering, particularly in payments and billing systems.
- Strong knowledge of payment processing systems and financial compliance standards.
- Experience with integrating third-party payment providers and handling international transactions.
- Familiarity with security practices related to financial data and systems.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Product, Finance, and Engineering.
Responsibility
- Lead the technical architecture and implementation of Scribd’s payments and billing systems.
- Design, build, and operate backend services that power subscription payments at global scale.
- Own billing lifecycle, global payments, invoicing, reconciliation, and financial reliability.
- Integrate with multiple payment providers (Stripe, Adyen, Braintree) and support international currencies and local methods.
- Ensure compliance and security of financial systems through PCI DSS, tokenization, encryption, and secure data handling.
