They are seeking an Executive Underwriter with extensive experience in commercial underwriting, particularly in construction and casualty, to join their team in New York City, San Francisco, or Dallas Fort Worth.
Qualification
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in commercial underwriting, preferably in Construction, Casualty, or Builder's Risk.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a high emotional intelligence (EQ).
- Strong sales and marketing skills to position accounts and close deals.
- Solid background in risk analysis and experience with construction and/or casualty underwriting.
Responsibility
- Develop and negotiate price, coverage, terms, and conditions for new business and renewals.
- Identify target accounts that fit Shepherd’s underwriting appetite.
- Manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Demonstrate success in marketing, producer management, and new business development.
- Negotiate effectively with internal and external partners.
