SMX is seeking a SAN Administrator to implement and maintain multiple Storage Area Networks (SAN). The role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and effective communication. The position involves SAN administration, enterprise backup administration, and system management, with a focus on NetApp storage systems and compliance with security standards.
Qualification
- Must work onsite at Patuxent River NAS at least two days a week.
- DoD 8570/5239 IAT Level II Certification (Security + CE equivalent or greater).
- Active DoD Secret clearance required.
- Scripting experience using NetApp CLI commands.
- Strong competency with NETAPP Storage systems (FAS8200, AFF A200, AFF A300/A700 Cluster).
Responsibility
- Storage Area Network (SAN) administration including documentation of processes and upgrades.
- Upgrade software, monitor performance, and evaluate trends and needs.
- Manage user access to large datasets and maintain storage area networks.
- Monitor backup jobs and perform routine disaster recovery scenarios.
- Maintain backup policies and troubleshoot performance problems.
