SpaceX is seeking an Automation & Control Systems Technician to support the build-up and maintenance of data and control systems essential for safe and reliable access to space. The role involves working with various instrumentation, wiring, and control hardware, collaborating with engineers, and leading complex projects.
Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 1+ years of professional experience working with electronic systems
- Associate degree in aerospace technology or another technical field (preferred)
- 2+ years of experience working with instrumentation (preferred)
- Experience with PLC-based systems (preferred)
Responsibility
- Install and terminate wiring to pad instrumentation and data acquisition systems
- Install connectors, connector pins, terminals, and lugs
- Perform continuity checks and locate wiring errors using measuring instruments
- Collaborate with design engineers to troubleshoot failures from test data
- Write and organize work planning documents and instructions
- Generate purchase orders from vendor quotes
- Lead complex projects with minimal oversight
- Install and modify electrical conveyances like conduit and cable tray
- Build intricate cable assemblies using Mil-C connectors
- Troubleshoot AC power distribution equipment up to 480VAC
- Build and maintain PLC-based manufacturing hardware
- Fabricate support structures for electrical distribution equipment
