SpaceX is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer for the Starship Launch Pad, focusing on the design and integration of control systems for launch infrastructure. The role involves working with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure safe and reliable access to space, with responsibilities including designing control systems, maintaining electrical systems, and analyzing data.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in physics, electrical engineering or computer engineering
- 6+ months of experience with data acquisition systems (internship/project experience qualifies)
Responsibility
- Design and build the controls infrastructure for ground support equipment for the Starship Launch Vehicle
- Maintain operational capability of control voltage levels (<60V) electrical systems
- Develop and upgrade data acquisition and control systems across launch infrastructure
- Create new automation systems to support evolving launch and test needs
- Provide technical support for controls technicians and non-controls engineering groups
- Develop new hardware and processes to improve capabilities and reduce costs
- Analyze data to assess function and health of electrical systems
- Assist in the design and analysis of experiments to evaluate test articles
