Development Test Engineer

SpaceX is seeking a Development Test Engineer to join their fast-paced R&D focused Development Test group. The role involves designing, fabricating, and implementing test equipment, as well as conducting development tests for new products, ground systems, spacecraft, and launch vehicles, with a focus on reducing hardware development time and increasing reliability.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- 1+ years of experience in designing and building mechanical structures
- Involvement with an extracurricular project team or academic research on mechanical structures
- Professional experience designing and analyzing mechanical structures
- Basic programming skills (Python, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS preferred)
Responsibility
- Create test stand concepts, fabrication drawings, wiring schematics, and instrumentation lists
- Design and analyze structures, fluid systems, and mechanisms
- Supervise the integration of test stands including fabrication, mechanical assembly and data/control systems
- Operate test stands with great attention to detail
