DSP Engineer (Starship Avionics)

SpaceX is seeking a DSP Engineer for the Starship Avionics team to develop advanced communication systems and RF sensors for spacecraft. The role involves system-level design, collaboration with various engineering disciplines, and ownership of product results from concept to flight. The position is part of a fast-paced team focused on making human life multi-planetary.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science, or an engineering discipline
- 1+ years of experience designing and verifying modems and sensors
- 1+ years of experience developing signal processing algorithms in Python, Matlab, or C/C++
Responsibility
- System-level and link-level design in support of spacecraft communications and sensing systems
- Work across disciplines with RF/antenna, FPGA, and software engineers to design and validate comm systems
- Develop floating-point and fixed-point models and run simulations to analyze and validate overall system performance, including modem performance
- Support FPGA designers with bit-accurate and cycle-accurate RTL verification
- Own the end-to-end results of your products, from requirements gathering through production and flight, including verification and documentation
