SpaceX is seeking a Loads & Dynamics Engineer for the Starship project, responsible for dynamic and vibration analyses on various vehicles. The role involves collaboration with engineering teams to influence hardware and mission design decisions, focusing on multiple dynamics engineering disciplines.
Qualification
- Strong intuition of dynamic systems
- Good understanding of a broad range of engineering disciplines
- Solid software and analytical skills
- Experience with finite element analysis
- Familiarity with dynamic testing methodologies
Responsibility
- Resolve dynamics problems through analysis, test and the use of flight data
- Own system level analysis and drive hardware modifications or vehicle operations across vehicle engineering teams
- Build finite element and lumped element models of launch vehicle systems for derivation of vehicle or component loads
- Execute dynamic testing from start-to-finish including pre-test analysis, sensor selection & installation, testing, data analysis, and signal processing
- Collaborate with Starship Responsible Engineers to influence design decisions
