SpaceX is seeking a Propulsion Engineer for the Thermal & Fluid Analysis team for the Starship program. The role involves ensuring optimal fluid conditions for the spacecraft, improving vehicle performance, and contributing to the development of a reusable transportation system for missions to Earth orbit, the Moon, Mars, and beyond.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- 1+ years of experience with engineering simulation software like MATLAB.
- Master’s degree in an engineering discipline (preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in thermal or fluid analysis (preferred).
- Strong understanding of spacecraft and launch vehicle propulsion systems.
- Experience with 0-D and 1-D thermal/fluid networks.
- Knowledge of scripting languages, particularly Python.
- Excellent communication skills.
Responsibility
- Conduct per-mission analysis on attitude control systems and propellant conditions.
- Automate workflows to reduce engineering investment in analysis.
- Pursue improvements in performance and robustness.
- Simplify operations to reduce burden on other teams.
- Document work to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
- Review peer work for quality assurance.
