The Sourcing Manager for Indirect Procurement at SpaceX will support the Starlink Supply Chain team by sourcing and activating capital equipment and machinery essential for the production of the Starlink Satellite Constellation. The role involves developing supplier networks, creating sourcing strategies, and managing contracts to ensure cost efficiency and quality in procurement processes.
Qualification
- Advanced degree in business, engineering, or related field.
- Experience in procurement or sourcing, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience with contract management.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and BOMs.
- Proven problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency and speed.
Responsibility
- Develop a preferred supplier network to minimize cost and lead time for equipment and machinery fabrication and delivery.
- Create sourcing strategies for assigned categories to reduce risk and meet purchasing targets.
- Support commodities including equipment for electronics production, RF testing, environmental testing, and automation.
- Solve complex problems with a focus on speed and efficiency.
- Manage sourcing for machinery and equipment to support insourcing efforts, coordinating with stakeholders and managing vendor performance.
- Perform onsite reviews of vendor capabilities.
- Author contract documents in collaboration with the legal department.
- Manage contracts to ensure supplier performance meets obligations.
- Maximize value and cost savings through negotiations and cost modeling.
- Place purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices related to assigned categories.
- Interpret engineering drawings and BOMs.
