Supabase is seeking a Multigres Engineer to contribute to the development of their open-source distributed database system, Multigres, which enhances Postgres with horizontal scaling capabilities. The role involves designing and implementing critical infrastructure for distributed databases, collaborating with various teams, and engaging with the open-source community.
Qualification
- Deep technical expertise in distributed databases and systems
- Knowledge of database sharding, relational algebra, and Postgres internals
- Experience with consensus protocols (Raft, Paxos, FlexPaxos) and distributed transactions
- Familiarity with stream processing, materialization, and change data capture
- Ability to build robust, performant distributed systems with strong observability
Responsibility
- Design and implement query routing logic for sharded databases
- Build consensus and replication systems to support distributed durability
- Develop materialization pipelines for migrations and change data capture
- Contribute to connection pooling infrastructure and intelligent workload isolation
- Collaborate with the open-source community on Multigres development
