Supabase is seeking a Senior Postgres Engineer to enhance the stability and functionality of their hosted Postgres offering. The role involves working closely with various teams to maintain a secure and performant Postgres foundation, ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, async environments and is passionate about building scalable developer tools.
Qualification
- 5+ years of experience with PostgreSQL security, encryption, RLS, and permissions.
- Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals and hands-on experience building extensions in C and Rust.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for managed PostgreSQL deployments.
- Experience with PostgreSQL's background worker framework and shared memory management.
- Ability to communicate clearly across both technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibility
- Maintain and expand the stability and functionality of the hosted Postgres offering.
- Work closely with customers, partners, product, engineering, support, and success teams.
- Diagnose issues with custom extensions and analyze core dumps.
- Resolve performance problems in managed PostgreSQL deployments.
- Build testing and manage idempotent deployment to thousands of running Postgres instances.
